The London Grid for Learning (LGfL) Consortium
The London Grid for Learning consortium is made up of the LGfL Trust, it's key partners
and the 33 Local Authorities in London. Please
contact us if you have any questions about any LGfL services.
We often get asked why the annual renewal of the broadband connection is so much more than you see advertised on the TV. The simple answer is that the type of broadband connection is different and you get alot more additional services with the LGfL connection. InteraCT Issue 8 is a little out of date, however, does give you a flavour of what you get for your money.

The London Grid for Learning (LGfL) is a consortium of the 33 Local Authorities
which provides a filtered broadband connection, network services, a common learning
platform, online content and support communities for all schools across London. |

Digitalbrain supply the LGfL with their Vitual Learning Environment (VLE) or Learning
Platform (LP). Currently all Newham schools, staff and pupils have access to their
own individual portal on the VLE. Service include email, web page creation, calendars
and many more. There are a number of tips and tricks for the
VLE that make it use and the teaching of easier. |

Fronter have been awarded the contract for the London Managed Learning Environment
(MLE). On of the great advantages of an MLE over a VLE is the integration into the
schools Management
Information System (MIS) like SIMS. Information on the London
