Our last ‘guest’ speaker was Newham’s LGfL representative,
Pippa Dorman
who introduced the conference to the
LGfL Podcast site which is a free service available
to all London schools. She also demonstrated how to use
Audacity which is a freely downloadable sound
recorder and editor (please note, Audacity also needs the
LAME encoder to create .mp3 files) showing
us that podcasting can be done without investing in additional software. Pippa led
the conference through a very enjoyable activity whereby delegates downloaded music
from the excellent
audio network site and added it to a voice recording. Some of the finished
masterpieces can be
heard here. Pippa has created a number of useful
help guides which can be downloaded from here and you can find out more about the
LGfL Podcast service by visiting the LGfL
‘Podcast Central’ area.
