Promethean Learning offers you the opportunity to access online tutorials and accreditation
in the use of ActivPrimary and ActivStudio software.
 ActivPrimary Courses
ITASS are running 28 twilight courses over the next academic year to support teachers
in developing their use of ActivPrimary in the classroom.
We have developed 5 different courses in order to ensure that we meet your needs.

ActivPrimary Part 1 - Getting Started is aimed at teachers
who are using ActivPrimary and an Interactive whiteboard for the first time:-
The aims of this course are to provide teachers with an opportunity to:
- Familiarise themselves with the ActivPrimary software package and Promethean Interactive
whiteboards
- Explore and create resources using ActivPrimary software
- Consider how ActivPrimary might be used to enhance learning and teaching across
the curriculum.
ActivPrimary Part 2 - Developing your skills is for teachers
who are already familiar with the basics of ActivPrimary and Interactive Whiteboards.
The aims of this course are to provide participants with an opportunity to:
- Develop use of ActivPrimary software package and Promethean Interactive whiteboards.
- Create resources using ActivPrimary software using a wider set of tools and techniques.
- Become more confident users of ActivPrimary.
- Consider how specific tools and techniques might be used to enhance learning and
teaching across the curriculum.
ActivPrimary Part 3 - Enhancing interactivity is for teachers
who are already reasonably confident users of ActivPrimary.
The aims of this course are to provide participants with an opportunity to:
- Move towards Promethean's Professional User Accreditation
- Create Flipchart resources that incorporate a range of multimedia.
- Consider how interactive techniques might be used to enhance learning and teaching
across the curriculum.
ActivPrimary Part 4 - Professional User Accreditation workshop
is an informal session for teachers who are confident users of
ActivPrimary who are happy to share good practice.
The aims of this course are to provide participants with an opportunity to:
- Move towards Promethean's Professional User Accreditation
- Share Flipchart resources used in school
- Discuss best practice when using Interactive Whiteboards
In addition to these courses specifically designed for teachers we are also running
twilight courses specifically aimed at support staff eg Teaching
Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Nursery Nurses who have access to an Interactive
Whiteboard when supporting children.
ActivPrimary for Support Staff - The aims of this course are to
provide participants with an opportunity to:
- Familiarise themselves with the ActivPrimary software package and Promethean Interactive
whiteboards
- Explore and create resources using ActivPrimary software
