It is expected that all secondary schools will soon begin to use the SIMS Learning Gateway software to allow parents to access information about their children on-line. It is essential that schools carry out tidying of their pupil address and contact data before using Learning Gateway, to ensure that appropriate user accounts are created for parents. ITASS will book schools on to these courses.

All other courses are open to schools to book your own places. These include courses for new users of Pupil Records, SEN, Personnel, FMS, Attendance, Assessment Manager, Exams Organiser, Behaviour Management, School Census and School Workforce Census. There are also short courses in selected areas of FMS, and full-day courses in MS Word and Excel.

All schools are reminded that the DfE requires School Census returns in October 2010 and January 2011. The School Workforce Census is now an annual return and the next one is due in November 2010.

The termly IMS User Group meeting for admin staff in primary, nursery and special schools is on Wednesday 24 November 2010. You are asked to book a place for this in the same way as for training courses, so that we know numbers in advance.
